Straight and Narrow - Week ???


- No fluff to report really. Just day to day stuff that is not really blog worthy,=.

- I had my consult with the surgeon this week.
- Surgery is set for June 11th.
- Part of me is thrilled, but part of me is scared shitless.
- I'm not actually afraid of the surgery itself, I'm afraid of the recovery. A sling for 6-8 weeks? Shoot me now!

- I continue to workout at home, and I'm LOVING it.
- My Goodlife membership is due for renewal at the end of the month. I don't use it often, but I do go every Saturday and Sunday. I think I will put it on hold until further notice, as I likely won't be able to get back there for quite sometime.
- I'm starting T25 tomorrow!! I was going to wait until after Easter, but with my surgery looming, I can almost finish the entire 60 days if I start tomorrow!

- Food hasn't been perfect, but it hasn't been awful.
- I'm going to start tracking via the 21 Day Fix plan again.

- I've kept off the weight I lost on the 21 Day Fix, but I've only lost 2 lbs since I finished it. Not bad, but not amazing either.  Tracking my food is a MUST!

Goals for next week:
- Don't die during my first week of T25

T25 Challenge!

I really think I should moonlight as a private investigator.

My sources tell me that T25 is in Canada and is en route to my house. 

...ok, my source is a tracking number. Not my best work.

I've been doing Combat for a while now, but I'm not LOVING it. It's not new and sexy, as I've been doing it at the gym for years.

But what is new and sexy?

Truth be told, I'm actually super nervous about starting this program - but if I've learned anything with Beachbody programs is that the results speak for themselves. Quite a few people I know "in real life" have had amazing results, and I'm so excited to embark on a new challenge.

Just kidding. I'm happy that my mister will be suffering going through it with me!

I'm not perfect

Someone recently said to me: 

"Wow, you are so disciplined. This must come so easy to you"

I laughed right in their face and asked if they were high!

This does not come easy to me. Believe me.

I love being a sloth on the couch just as much as anyone else, and Jersey loves pretending she's a kitty cat.

In all honesty, this is a struggle for me every single day.

I will always be tempted by naughty food. And I will likely always feel guilty after enjoying said naughty food.

I get lazy too. Sometimes I would rather lie on the couch after work and watch Young and the Restless. And you know what? Sometimes I do exactly that.

I will always look at my pictures and scrutinize the how chubby my face looks or how puffy my arms are.

I will always fear that I'm being judged for being a Beachbody Coach because I clearly lack a body that struts around on the beach in a bikini.

I want you all to know that this is not an easy journey for me, or anyone else.

 I struggle like the rest of the world, but I try my best to make good decisions and emulate positive vibes to those around me. I don't always talk about my woes, but it doesn't mean I don't have them every single day.

I'm not perfect, but I try to be the best version of myself possible.

Straight and Narrow - Week ??

The 21 Day Fix has kind of dominated my blog lately - so I thought it was time for more of a generic update!

- It seems as though Winter is never ending this year. It was frickin' -20 when I left for work this morning. It's supposed to be Spring already.
- I made a super hot sushi and cupcake date with a pretty awesome lady.
- It's Maple Syrup season (kind of?) which means spending lots of time with my favorite people in the country. I love this time of year for that exact reason!
- I spent this weekend doing a whole lot of nothing. It was exactly what my mushy brain needed.

- It has remained attached since the last little episode. I haven't really been pushing it, but I was able to do a modified side plank yesterday!
- I made the mistake of Googling my surgeon. He looks like a serial killer.  If this is the case? He is likely really good at cutting things.


- I have kept up with my 21 Day Fix workouts - and upped my weighs!
- I also have started the Les Mills Combat program. I love punching things.


- I have also kept up with the nutrition side of the 'Fix.
- I discovered cottage cheese isn't really that revolting after all, especially when mixed with pineapple, strawberries and slivered almonds. It tastes better when I don't actually look at it.
- I ate a piece of pie last night. It was delicious, and I don't feel even a little bit guilty about it. After a week of hard work and clean eats, 1 piece of pie won't undo all my hard work.
- I like that attitude.
- I haven't had a Diet Pepsi since I started the 'Fix.


Goals for next week:
- Continue clean eating
- Continue chugging water
- Continue rocking my workouts.

Gotta say, it feels pretty awesome to be me right now.

#WIAW - 21 Day Fix Edition

I got an email yesterday from my pal Christy that basically said this "Dude, is the 21 Day Fix really just a clever name for a 1200 calorie a day diet?" I'm paraphrasing of course.

I assured her it wasn't and then I had a light bulb moment - a What I Ate Wednesday post with the calories of each meal.

 Meal 1: Chocolate shakeo (half a banana in the shake) + canteloupe = 243 cals
Meal 2: Overnight oats + blackberries = 326 cals

Meal 3: Tilapia, green beans, broccoli, brown rice and sunflower seeds = 479 cals

Meal 4: Turkey with Laughing Cow wedges and red pepper = 125 calories

Meal 5: Sirloin, sweet potato, broccoli, mushrooms = 507 cals 

As you can see, this is a ton of food and weighs in for a total of 1652 calories. Not bad for a diet eh?

21 Day Fix - Costco Staples

The thing with the 21 Day Fix? You need A LOT of produce, and A LOT of protein.

I'm a huge Costco shopper, so I thought I'd share some of my 21 Day Fix Costco staples!

  • Ground turkey
  • Bananas

  • Blackberries
  • Broccoli
  • Green beans
  • Brussel sprouts
  • Peppers
  • Cucs
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Salad greens

  • Greek Yogurt - I get the Kirkland 0%
  • egg whites (these aren't for me, but they are a good price there!)
  • Dijon mustard
  • Spices
  • Brown rice/quinoa blend
Obviously I don't buy all of this every week, but I definitely buy yogurt, broccoli and green beans every week!

21 Day Fix - THE RESULTS!

I can't believe I'm about to post these pictures on the frickin' Internet, but I think it speaks volumes to how amazing The 21 Day Fix really is.

I think I will ease you into to this session by showing you my clothed pictures.

I think the photos speak for themselves, but now here are the numbers:

Weight: -14 lbs
Chest: -2 inches
Waist: -5 inches
Hips: -3 inches
Thighs: -1 inch on each leg
Arms: -.5 inch on each arm

14lbs and 13 inches!????

I'm pretty proud. I cannot lie. All that in 21 days. Yes!

I'm often praised for my brutal honesty. Anyone has been reading for a while or knows me in real life knows that I'm a no bullshit kind of girl.

This is where I tell you my honest opinion: THIS PROGRAM IS AMAZING!

I attribute my success to:
1) The workouts - easy to modify, even if my shoulder is held together by tape
2) The simplicity of the nutrition component.
3) Shakeology - perfect amount of nutrition in a glass, delicious and filling
4) The online support from Facebook groups

I could really write all day about my thoughts and feelings with regards to this program, but again, I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

1) What are you going to do next Amy?
You've seen the pictures. I haven't quite achieved the perfect body in 21 days - nor did I expect to for the record! I'm going to do another round of the 21 Day Fix! I may try to combine a few different workouts, but I know I need to follow the nutrition plan and ensure to incorporate weight training. I've got my eye on Beachbody's Les Mills Combat. I do Body Combat at the gym, but this at home program also incorporates weight training, HIIT, etc.

2) How do I order the 21 Day Fix?
