Holy crap! Only one week to go!
I can't believe:
A) How fast this is going by
B) That I'm so focused!
This past week was a little bit tough for me, mainly because my shoulder went out last Monday making workouts non-existent.
Until Friday - when I got mad. Really mad.
Then I wrote my shoulder a letter on Instagram, because you know that's what normal people do.
Then I did 3 workouts that I missed. Modified. But I did them and it felt great.
The rest of the week was pretty spot on with food. I'm really loving all this clean eating business. I never feel deprived. Andrew on the other hand? I think he feels deprived. We went to Costco to stock up on the essentials and he looked a little sad when all we bought from the middle section was a box of Raisin Bran because it was on sale. The rest was protein, fruit or veggies!
I set up a fan in the basement - I needed some circulation! I can't believe I'm enjoying working out at home.
I'm enjoying it so much, I'm considering buying another program but I'm not sure which one. I'm leaning towards Combat - only because I REALLY REALLY REALLY enjoying punching and kicking things. The program is slightly different than the one offered at Goodlife, and the results that people yield are unreal.
I did a little sneak peak at my measurements and the scale - but I'm not going to share them yet!
Here's to an awesome last 7 days!

I'm still loving the workouts.
The food? The good is going great, except for last night when I found myself in my first jam where I was caught away from home and had to make due.
Wendy's to the rescue. It wasn't perfectly plan approved, as I exceeded my YELLOW (carbs) allotment for the day, but it's not nearly as bad as it could have been. What was super impressive? I had a water instead of my most favorite thing ever: fountain diet coke.
The other thing I was proud of, was the fact that even though I arrived home super late, I took the 25 mins to prepare my food for today. This my friends is HUGE.
I have the chocolate mixed with a some PB2 when I'm craving sweets.

The food quantity continues to be fantastic. Here is a little peak at what I've been eating.
From Left to Right:
Snack: whole wheat tortilla with half a banana, almond butter and a side of carrots
Dinner: Salsa chicken with brown rice and mixed veggies
Dinner: Huge salad with chicken
Lunch: Loaded sweet potato with salsa, chicken, avocado and a little cheddar
The workouts continue to keep me entertained....and frickin' sore!
The Lower Body Fix that I did on Wednesday has left my inner thighs and butt still sore today!

And then there was the workout. There is a prescribed workout for every day. Day #1 called for weights and I couldn't find mine so I opted for Day #5's workout which was called Cardio Fix.
Here's where I admit that I'm always skeptical of at home workouts. I follow a ton of people on Instagram that do Beachbody programs and see their sweaty face pictures, and take it with a grain of salt.
Totally eating my words now.
The moves were simple, yet I was a sweaty mess afterwards!
I took my measurements, weighed myself and took my official "before" pics.
I gotta say, I'm really looking forward to see what the next 20 days have in store for me!

If there was a definition of "straight and narrow" last week was the polar opposite.
- Canada (with the rockstar Carey Price in net) won GOLD in men's hockey!
- I turned 33
- I got some new make up
- I married Derek Jeter
- Jersey continued to look adorable
- It was struck with a sinusy/cough/sore throat kind of plague.
- Completely NON EXISTENT. Like not even a walk around the block.
- I did however move from the bedroom to the couch. That's 2 entire flights of stairs!
....but I had a lot of fun on my birthday.
*Note to self: bad times at work are not an excuse to skip the gym and eat poorly. Come on Amy, you know better. Working out makes you feel better remember? Especially going to Body Combat and channeling your anger into beating the shit out of the air. REMEMBER?
Goals for next week:
- Today marks day #1 of the 21 Day Fix. I really want to rock this program and follow it to a "T". I'm going to weigh myself (puke), take my measurements (barf) and get Andrew to take my official "before" pics (scary).
It's only 21 days. I can do anything for 21 days.

4 weeks already? Whhhhhat?
Fluff: It was a pretty good week in the fluff department. Spent Sunday at a play with my step-mom and MIL followed by a fabulous family dinner at my Dad’s place with my brother, his lady friend and their new baby Emma. I left my Dad’s feeling warm and fuzzy – maybe that was because I drank too much wine and stayed in the hot tub for over an hour?
It warmed up a little this week so my d-o-g and I got to spend a few evenings at the dog p-a-r-k.
It was also a good week for mail, I got my Ipsy bag and my 21 Day Fix arrived. I decided I will start the program on the 24th – the Monday following my birthday. There will be dinners out, etc so no use starting under after then.
Shoulder: I will be getting my MRI results on the 26th. Looking forward to getting some answers and a diagnosis.
Food: This week was a bit of an internal battle in the food department.
For the most part it was pretty decent – except I ate movie popcorn for dinner on Monday, raisin bran for dinner on Wednesday and a little run in with a PB rice krispy square at work on Thursday.
Oh, and those cookies in the middle? Lacey’s from Costco. They taste like heavenly little Skor bars. How I have not tried them until now is beyond me! Good news: They are so sweet, I shared half with my colleague.
Exercise: I worked out 5 times this week – the most I’ve worked out since before I hurt my shoulder. I know there’s only 4 pics below, but I snuck in a run on the treadmill on Monday before we went to the movies. (saw a screening of Robo Cop – kind of disliked it – but the company was fabulous!)
I’ve rekindled my love affair (obsession?) with Body Combat. This may not be the best idea for someone with a gimpy shoulder, but punching and kicking the air is incredibly therapeutic for a girl like moi. I’m feeling healthier and stronger every single day.
Summary: I give this week a B+. Not everything was spot on, but it was the best week yet on my straight and narrow path.
Goals for next week:
- gym x 5
- start mentally preparing for the 21 day fix
- water, water, water
