On particularly warm days when she doesn't feel much like running, she stops to “fake pee” at every shady spot along our route.

HAHAHA My shepard does the same thing. He has prostate cancer so thinks he needs to pee when he doesnt. We stop every 10 seconds, he will even stop to pee in mid air minus the trees! Love him but it is frustrating as well!
I thought my dog was the only fake pee-er. She does it every time she wants a break during a run :)
I think she might be on to something...hopefully no one will notice when I stop in a shady spot and fake pee during long runs now :)
