Detox

The nice thing about being invited to 3 turkey dinners, is not only not having to cook, but also not having any tempting leftovers in the house.

That being said, I'm still suffering from post-turkey-guilt.

There is something almost refreshing about wiping my slate clean and starting fresh.

I made a batch of Carrot Apple Ginger Soup and a batch Chicken Divan loosely based on this recipe.

I've written many times about the overpriced cafeteria at my office. Despite being overpriced, her food is quite good. She makes both carrot soup and chicken divan and I can proudly say both of these recipes are BETTER than hers. I've never made my chicken divan with curry, so when I tasted hers I loved it. This week I'll have healthier versions of her food and save myself the $$.

I took yesterday as a rest day, so I'm itching to get back to the gym tonight.

I also plan to drink my weight in water.

How do you detox?

**I took pictures of my delicious soup, but the Blackberry network appears to be down world wide. I smell scandal**

I usually don't buy into detox, but if I do feel the need to cleanse, I drink water with fresh lemon and a bit of raw honey. My other standby is hot ginger tea.
Awesome job at saving some cash and cooking a better version of the foods you love.

I agree about the lemon in the water. Also ginger tea is great. I have done the Raw Foods Detox which is amazing, but be warned it threw my skin for a loop. I had the worst break out of my life. I did it during one of my many attempts to detox off of aspartame. Also, I've done a juice fast in which I will have fresh squeezed juice in the morning, and for lunch, but then have a cooked meal consisting of a grain and a bean (quinoa and black beans). Sounds kind of wackadoo right??
