Amy, I've read your blog for about a year (I love your raw honesty). I lost my grandmother, one of my best friends this summer. It was just days after my birthday. The heartache is awful. But I found that accepting this pain and sadness, as a tribute of the tremendous bond, helped me through the past months. I hurt, because I loved her, and still love her, so much. My sincerest condolences to you, Andrew and your family.

I'm a "fallen away" Catholic, as I know you are, but there are some principals of catholicism that I cling to in these kind of times. 1) Heaven exists, and your Nana is there with her family 2)life is a dress rehearsal for the afterlife - she is where should all hope to be someday...

Losing someone you love isn't easier even with these in mind, but on days when the raw pain is too much to handle, I hope you think of the good times you've had, and know that she's looking down on you.

BIG hugs!
