So yah... I kinda have a blog

I've always tried my best to keep my "blog life" and my "real life" separated. Well maybe saying trying to keep them separated is the wrong thing to say - but I guess I don't advocate that I have a blog.

Why?

  • I write about some pretty personal stuff
  • I write about some pretty bizarre stuff
  • I think taking photos of food is pretty lame, so I suspect that most of my "real life" friends would ask what the eff I'm doing
  • I don't want to be known as "the girl that documents absolutely everything"
  • I have a real job and don't care about how many blog hits I get. I blog as a hobby.
  • I don't want my Dad reading about my lady bits.
I could really go on forever.

With Twitter and Pinterest becoming more popular, I find my real life and my personal life kind of colliding.

There's nothing I can really do about it, except embrace it.

My "internet" friends.

To sum it up for those who may have stumbled across my blog via Twitter or Pinterest: I kind of have a blog.
  • I've been blogging for a pretty long time. It all started back in 2006 before blogging was even trendy.
  • I have "internet" friends
  • Sometimes when I'm out running, I compose blog posts in my head
  • I'm very good at taking sneaky photographs of food when you're not looking
  • I apologize if I've posted a picture of you on the blog without asking
  • In the past, I may have written some pretty mean stuff. I'm honest - that's just the way I write.
  • I'm not crazy. I'm not emotionally unstable. Yes, I'm hard on myself. It's just who I am.
  • Leave a comment - I'm kinda curious to see who's reading.
Glad that elephant is out of the room! Have a great Wednesday!

Crrreeeeeeppppping on you ;) You already knew that though. It'll be even more awkward if I move back to Ottawa and I show up next to you in a spin class since I want to move back to Barrhaven. :D

As long as you don't post pics of your lady bits, it's all good. :)

I haven't come out to my friends and family yet about my blog. Well, okay, SOME of them know but I just figure if they find it, they find it.

I love the way your blog is so honest! It gets tiring when some blogs seem to be constantly patting themselves or there perfect lives on the back all the time. I want to read about real people with lives I can relate to...,that's why I love your blog!!!

As I said to you on the weekend, I feel like I can keep up with you from your blog. And when I said you are hard on yourself, I meant that you workout and eat well and should be proud of that! (as I eat french toast while writing this).

I'm reading (and have been for about a year)! I live in Los Angeles. I don't have a blog. I found your blog through the old questionsfordessert. I appreciate your honesty and love that you run with your dog.

HAHAHAHA that picture :) I always think of that around Thanksgiving!

Funny that I go from getting my boobs grabbed by my internet friends, to having my boobs grabbed daily by a little munchkin...TMI???

Can't believe that was three years ago already...miss you tons (and I like to think of you as more than an internet friend...you know, since I met you a few times...and touched you inappropriately that one time.....sorry again about that...)

That picture makes me happy and sad all at the same time.

I get what you are saying though. I haven't told anyone at my new job about my blog. I'm worried they won't 'get' it. Although you'd think after all these years, and the number of people that do know, I wouldn't care. But I do.

And FYI, internet friends can turn out to be some of the best friends a girl can ever have. I would still turn to any of you girls in a heartbeat if I had some big news or needed a good shoulder.

I've been a long time reader! I have a few people that found out I blog through Pinterest too, but I only ever told my hubby and my BFF. I like your honesty and sometimes bluntness. I feel like I'm reading a REAL post and not just a frilly one that is just doing it to promote readership!

I just found your blog today and I will definitely keep reading :) No one in my "real life" knows about my blog yet...I'm thinking about asking my brother to do some design work for me though so that will mean telling my family!
