Coconutty, sea salty, homemade Icy Squares!

I love all things coconut. Body wash, shampoo, body butter, macaroons, Bounty bars, coconut M&M's, coconut cupcakes and most recently pina coladas.

I was at Costco this week when I stumbled upon this little gem.

I happened to be out of coconut oil, so I picked it up. I'm peeling like a mofo and I've read amazing things about coconut oil as a moisturizer.

PSA: Coconut oil works amazing as a moisturizer. Bonus: It smells amazing.

Seguing into another coconutty confession: I may have a small obsession with Icy Squares. You know, these little guys?

Love them.

I saw a recipe for homemade icy squares over on Pinterest a while ago, and was shocked to read it was just coconut oil, cocoa and some form of sweetener.

Genius! What else is genius, is adding a little protein powder. Thanks for the idea TrulyJess.

My formula includes:

1 tbsp melted coconut oil
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1/2 a scoop of vanilla protein powder
a squeeze of agave
a sprinkle of unsweetened coconut
1 grinder crank of of sea salt on top

Let it chill for 30 mins in the freezer, and BAM - Homemade coconutty, sea salty, homemade Icy Squares!

......did I just get photo bombed by my dog?

Mmmm I do this all the time with a little almond better in the middle = almost a peanut butter cup. Next time I need to do the salt on top! Never even thought of that!

I'm thinking about joining Costco - what does one do with coconut oil, besides slathering on one's face? I keep reading about it, but have clue what the benefits are...

I have been loving that recipe too from Truly Jess but I don't add the protein powder. It really does help with a chocolate craving. And it is so fast to make too.
